LEARN TO PLAY (formerly called Whack-a-Puck)

 

The Learn to Play program is designed for boys and girls age 4+ who have participated in the Learn to Skate program. As players advance from Learn to Skate to Learn to Play, they will be moved down to the far end of the ice to further develop their skating skills. Additionally, we will incorporate some of the fundamentals of skating with the puck and stick handling.

When & Where: All sessions are held on the weekends from October through March. Salem State University’s Rockett Arena is used October through February, and Connery Rink in Lynn is used during March.

 

Equipment: Since this program is more geared towards playing hockey, a full complement of hockey equipment is needed:

• USA Hockey certified helmet with face mask
• Neck protector
• Hockey gloves
• Shin pads
• Hockey pants and socks
• Elbow pads
• Chest protector
• Stick
