Hollyhocks All Girls Program

"Here's to strong women. May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them"

The Marblehead Hollyhocks is a supplemental girls-only youth hockey program that participates in the Middlesex Yankee Girls Hockey League (MYCGL)  with roughly 15 games for the U10 and U12 levels, as well as one practice a month. Additionally, there is a U8 practice-only squad that is free for all girls who are registered in MYHA. The Hollyhocks is an equal playing time organization as it attempts to provide and promote an all-girls hockey experience within MYHA. The program strives to be a fun and competitive program designed to develop hockey skills, sportsmanship, team play, and to foster long term athletic and social development.

Friendships That Last A Lifetime

The hollyhocks also enjoy off-ice activities and  we aim to provide our players with a life-changing experience by  fostering a sense of companionship with girls who share the love of this great sport.

Hollyhock Game and Attendance Policy

To promote girls hockey and ensure predictable and regular participation in the program, it is the policy of MYHA to have a girl player participate in a Hollyhock game whenever there is a conflict with a coed team game. This will ensure that the Hollyhocks have game commitment while making games more meaningful and competitive. MYHA coed team coaches and hollyhocks coaches are expected to communicate  reasonably in advance of any conflicts so that coaches can call up players from other teams if necessary. Hollyhocks are free to choose which practice to attend if conflicts occur.

This policy was approved unanimously by The Board of Directors.
